algebratize

algebratize
To algebratize is to simplify a complicated mathematical result using algebra to make it more elegant (and more likely to match the answer in the back of the book and multiple choice answers on a standardized test, like the AP calculus exam).

In calculus, when the result of a derivative uses both the quotient and chain rules, it is usually worth your time to algebratize the answer. The algebratization (noun variant) is much easier to check in the back of the book.
